New rate and makeup Machin values were issued on 31st March 2009 in respect of the postal rate increase on 6th April 2009. They were printed in standard counter sheets of 200, however, have revised sheet markings which include :-
Self adhesive sheet printings with the additional security features will apply to NVI rate stamps and the 50p, £1 and £1.50 to £5 range. All other values printed in counter sheets will continue to be issued with conventional gum and without the additional security features.

In the case of some of the Country Pictorial definitives two different values were engraved together on the same cylinder. When this occurred the cylinder pane identification grid box has one segment shaded out to indicate that the pane does not exist. In the following examples both the 56p values were printed from the same cylinder :-
